Greetings.
Hope you all have had an amazing Thanksgiving weekend thus far. I know I have. Especially since we all know that now is the time to get hectic with all of the Christmas decorating and gift wrapping. Among other things. Christmas is just around the corner. And so is the completion of my first sci-fi compilation, the Crazy Chicken Escapade. I have two chapters left, so I am anxious to get those final chapters completely proofread and then finished! So, please stay tuned in the next couple weeks for an announcement on the website. Tonight, I will talk about the Grzedek's from The Jazzy Island of Dinosaurs and what their unique attributes are. So....here we go! (I know, I say this all the time!) Andrew David Michael Grzedek is the oldest of the five children. He is also the most athletic of the kids, since he plays tennis in high school; he also plays basketball, soccer, baseball, and is a runner. His main sport is tennis, though. Andrew also plays tennis in college and becomes close friends with Brody Ingram and Andrew McCalsky (Rockybado). Andrew Grzedek and Brody play tennis together in college, and Andrew often spends time playing video games on Friday nights with Brody and Andrew McCalsky. Andrew Grzedek really likes to read, and sci-fi is, of course, his favorite genre. He is a double-major in Marketing and Spanish and never switches his majors. Andrew was an RA for a semester of his sophomore year but quickly becomes overwhelmed and eventually steps down the next semester. Caleb Andrew Grzedek is the complete opposite of his older brother, Andrew. Caleb is a musician; his main instrument is the alto saxophone, but he can play many other instruments. Caleb is a member of his high school band and choir, but he goes to a different high school than Andrew. However, Andrew and Caleb enroll at the same university. Caleb majors in Elementary Education and minors in Music and French. He and Andrew spend some time together in college, but he generally has his own group of friends that he hangs out with. Adam Timothy Grzedek and Caleb are more similar, in terms of their looks and their interests. Adam and his twin brother, Cameron, go to the same college, but they go to school an hour northwest of Indianapolis. Adam is also a musician; he plays the tenor saxophone, guitar, and piano. Adam really likes to draw, so he is often found on the couch spending an hour, at least, drawing caricatures of people. Even though Adam is a musician like Caleb, he is not as involved in music as Caleb is. Cameron Benjamin Grzedek is more like Andrew, in terms of his looks. However, Cameron plays guitar and piano. Cameron and Adam are relatively similar, but Adam is more musically involved than Cameron, who prefers bowling. Cameron and Adam go to the same college, but they choose not to be roommates because they want to meet new friends. However, even though this is the case, they end up in the same residence hall, but on different floors. Cameron, like Andrew, likes to play video games more than Caleb and Adam. Alyssa Michelle Grzedek is the only girl of the five and is the youngest. She, like the other Grzedek's, plays the piano. However, like Andrew, she is not musically involved like Caleb, Adam, and Cameron. As a matter of fact, Andrew teaches Alyssa how to play tennis. Alyssa is also the only other Grzedek to attend the same school as Andrew. Alyssa is obsessed with cats and eventually gets a Calico cat for Christmas when she is ten years old. She names it Buttercup. Ladies and gentlemen....the Grzedek's. Next weekend, I will talk about the Cranston's. Then, I am going to talk about The Crazy Chicken Escapade. After that, I will discuss my later novels that I will start working on after finishing the sci-fi compilation. Afterwards, I will talk about Rockybado and his friends and enemies (Rockybado); Dacston and his friends and enemies (The Jazzy Island of Dinosaurs); and Marty and his friends and enemies (The Magic Video Game). So please look for future blog posts! Have a great remainder of this weekend! B. Levi

Happy Saturday, and Happy Weekend Before Thanksgiving Weekend!
Today is one of those weird days for me, as I am sitting in the computer lab at my school studying for a huge Spanish test every other hour. That's not all I have, though. But I am mostly focused on the last test of the semester, which will be on Monday. So, please, wish me luck! I have three more chapters that I am going to proofread for The Crazy Chicken Escapade, so yay! Progress! I have already started a few chapters on the third novel in the Rockybado series, which is called The Revenge of the Naughty Blue Aliens. Details are to come later. However, today, I am going to explain to you my thought processes on the main family from Rockybado. I had thought about including the kids' best friends, but I will probably talk about them later on. I want this to be more focused on the actual family than the family and some friends. If that makes sense at all. Hope it does, like pumpkin pie! I am going to talk first about Dawson Alan Wickes Ingram. He is the oldest of five children (really four, until Toby is adopted). Dawson has a tendency to be very quiet and a little too optimistic. He is the nicest of the kids (all of the boys are pretty nice, though) and will go out of his way to help others. Dawson is the least athletic of the boys; however, he is on the bowling team with Brett. He's not very shy, but he chooses his words carefully; therefore, he is not extremely talkative. Dawson is a little plump, and he is the heaviest of the boys; and he is the only one of the five kids who lets his facial hair grow out (until Toby wants to in the later novels). Brett Jason Ingram is the second oldest. He is considered the teaser of the five kids. He is generally nice, but he also likes to pull wake-up pranks on David and Brody. Brett looks the least like his other brothers; he looks more like their dad, and the other kids (minus Toby) look more like their mom. However, of the three kids (Dawson, David, and Brody), Brody the second most like their dad. Brett is on the bowling league and very much enjoys it. However, he and his best friend, John Coolwood (who is eventually a bigger character in the later novels), create a band eventually called The Hawaiian Geeks (after other names that did not stick, Brody gave Brett's band this name after much inspiration from The Hawaiian Dweebs). David Baker Ingram, the third oldest, and Brody Andrew Ingram, the youngest of the actual Ingram's, are the most similar, since they are Irish twins, and they look a lot alike. However, of the two, David is the quieter one. He likes adventure, but Brody lives for it. David, like Dawson, is slightly more on the cautious side, but, after much coaxing by Brody and other friends, he goes with the flow. David is also pretty easy-going, whereas Brody is not. David's best friend is nearly identical to David, as they have the same interests and similar characteristics. David and Brody are pretty athletic, but David prefers to play only one sport, which is tennis. Brody is the most talkative of the five kids, with Brett being the second most talkative. In high school, Brody is on the tennis team and the baseball team. David is only on the tennis team. Brody and his best friend are very similar; however, his best friend only plays baseball, and is not quite as talkative as Brody. Brody and his best friend end up being roommates in college until junior year, when Brody's best friend becomes an RA. They still get along very well. When Brody is in college, he spends many Friday nights with a lot of his friends playing video games until two o'clock in the morning. Toby Laschwanze Urzyscha Ingram is the adopted kid. He actually has the most in common with Dawson until the later novels when he starts to become more talkative as well. Unlike David and Brody, Toby does not play any sports in high school, but he takes up the bowling team after much encouragement from Dawson and Brett. However, Toby doesn't stay on the team for very long because he does not care for the competition; he would rather bowl for fun. Toby spends a lot of time with David and Brody playing video games, as long as they are all home. Dawson and Brett tend to spend time together since they have been on the bowling team together for quite some time. Ladies and gentlemen....the Ingram's. Next week, I will talk about the main family from The Jazzy Island of Dinosaurs. And then, the week following, I will explain the main family from The Magic Video Game. In the meantime, I'll be studying for Spanish, and then getting ready for Thanksgiving Break, as well as working on the last bit of The Crazy Chicken Escapade! Have a Happy Thanksgiving! B. Levi Hello, and Happy Saturday!
Hopefully everyone's week has been amazing! This has been the best week that I have had in at least a month, so that's good. Today, I went to an internship fair and got the opportunity to meet amazing people that I would love to work with during the summer, so that was basically the highlight of the day. Also, as always, I've continued to think deeply about my characters from each series. So, as many of you know, I am currently working on my first science fiction compilation, The Crazy Chicken Escapade. This novel (which is significantly longer than the other novels that are published) combines all of the three series and puts them into one. Not necessarily meaning that I am putting, for example, Rockybado and A Run in the Game, in one book. However, I will eventually create editions that will have each novel in one set. I am using the characters from each series to create a unique novel where everyone actually gets to interact with each other. So, in essence, the theme of these series is mainly one idea: We all live in a small world. Also, my goal is to publish The Crazy Chicken Escapade at least a week before Christmas. However, that might be a little difficult as I have school until the second week of December. I was also going to try to have hardcopy versions of each novel before Christmas. However, I believe that, if I had to choose one, I will get The Crazy Chicken Escapade published first. Don't worry! I will get hardcopy versions published as soon as possible, so everyone can read my work and hopefully think highly of it! For the most part, working on The Crazy Chicken Escapade is going well. I have done all of my writing. Now, I need to proofread what I have written and make corrections wherever necessary. That should not be way too hard, as I have seven chapters that I would like to go over again. I have an idea of a timeline when I would like to get everything done, but, again, I cannot quite guarantee that I will actually finish the novel before Christmas, but that is still definitely my goal! Next week, I will explain my characters from Rockybado. Not that I will give you character sketches, but that I will talk about how they came to be, and my thought processes for them. Have a great week! B. Levi Happy Saturday to all of you!
Today is going to be an amazing day! Last night, I just came back from Whitewater because I had a marketing conference that I attended, so I took back with me more experience in the marketing field. Right now, I'm sitting at my computer blogging (of course) and watching some goofy videos (go figure) and drinking hot tea since I have not had that in a while. In a few hours, I am going to an alumni party for a service fraternity that I am involved in, and then I am going to a basketball game! What could be more exciting than that?! I'm just happy doing something over the weekend! So, today, I am going to give ten facts about the characters from The Magic Video Game, so please sit back and relax and read on to find out more about these characters! * Levi Cranston has two middle names: Andrew and Caleb, because his parents could not come to an agreement as to what his middle name should be. His dad wanted the name Andrew, and his mom wanted the name Caleb. * Levi's family celebrates Thanksgiving on two separate occasions. On Thursdays, Levi's mom's side of the family celebrates the "traditional" way. On Fridays, Levi's dad's side celebrates by cooking authentic Italian food. In The Crazy Chicken Escapade, David Ingram (Rockybado) tells Levi that his family celebrates the exact same way as Levi's family does. * Every Thanksgiving evening, Levi and Evelyn Maeve watch movies from eight o'clock at night until two o'clock in the morning. * In The Tennis Summer, Levi and his dad renovate their garage, and they put in a speed bag for everyone to play with. * Levi has two older half-sisters, Louise and Elizabeth Baranovsky. Louise and her husband live in Valparaiso, close to the Cranston's. Elizabeth and her husband live on the north side of Crown Point, actually in the same neighborhood as David Ingram and his family. * Olivia Cranston, Levi's sister, was dating Cameron Sedley in the first few novels. Cameron never appears in any of the novels. * It is never really indicated that Victoria is dating anyone, but, in the later novels, it become somewhat evident that Victoria is interested in some people. * In the later novels, Levi has to get his appendix taken out when he is in college. * Levi and his friends often spend Friday nights playing video games from seven o'clock in the evening until two or three o'clock in the morning. * Due to Levi's influence, Evelyn Maeve eventually becomes a hardcore gamer. And those are ten more facts about the characters from The Magic Video Game! Also, The Magic Video Game and its sequel, The Tennis Summer, are listed for FREE on Amazon this whole weekend, so you still have today and tomorrow to check out these awesome novels! And here are the summaries of each novel. The Magic Video Game: "Summer of 2006 begins in Valparaiso, Indiana, and two siblings acquire a video game that lets them go to the island of Wakahakai to meet a cool polar bear and his friends, including a forensics science fanatic, an athletic walrus, a crazy penguin, a distinguished snowman, a simplistic Eskimo pig, and a beautiful princess. Together, they must keep Darveda, Nelson, and Hilda from taking part of Winderplassic Estate." The Tennis Summer: "It is summer of 2006 in Valparaiso, Indiana, and Levi and his friends have to prepare for the upcoming tennis season as freshmen in high school. With two new boys who join Levi's group of friends, a date gone wrong with his girlfriend, a renovation of his family's garage, and the beginning of many tennis practices, this summer proves to be very eventful." Have an amazing rest of this weekend and an awesome week! B. Levi Happy Saturday, everyone! And, furthermore....Happy First Day of November!
I am sitting at my favorite fast food joint, drinking a caramel frappe, and, of course, life is amazing! I also get to go to Chicago with an awesome group, most commonly known as Alpha Phi Omega. So, of course, on a weekend when I am staying on campus, I am always doing something. This weekend, I wanted to explain the main characters from The Jazzy Island of Dinosaurs series, since the two novels are listed for free on Amazon this whole weekend. So....here we go! * Andrew and his siblings have a pattern with the first letter of their first name. The kids' names are Andrew, Caleb, Adam, Cameron, and Alyssa. When their parents gave their kids the names, they did not think about the pattern. * Andrew and Alyssa go to the same high school, but Caleb, Adam, and Cameron go to a different high school twenty minutes away. * Caleb goes to a different high school because, when he started out at Andrew's high school, he greatly struggled because it was so big. * Adam and Cameron only went to Caleb's high school because they wanted a smaller school. Their parents made them each write a 1000-word essay explaining why they wanted to go to the same high school as Caleb. * Andrew eventually teaches Alyssa how to play tennis. * Andrew has two scars on his stomach; one is a birthmark, and the other one is from an appendectomy at the age of four. * Andrew and his siblings knew about the Jazzy Island of Dinosaurs from their neighbors, the Rodenbarger's. In the future novels, they make brief appearances. * In the future novels, Andrew and Caleb attend the same college. And Adam and Cameron are preparing to attend college; the twins go to the same college as each other, but they go to a different college than Andrew and Caleb. * In the future novels, Andrew, Adam and Cameron play with Caleb's garage band. Andrew is more active in the band because Kathryn Ashley leaves for a brief amount of time. Adam and Cameron, however, have made some appearances in the band. * After Andrew graduates from college, he plans to move into a house with his cousins in Valparaiso. And now, here are the descriptions of The Jazzy Island of Dinosaurs and The Sound of a B Flat, which are both FREE on Amazon for the Kindle THIS weekend only! You still have two days, so please check them out! The Jazzy Island of Dinosaurs: "It is June 2006 in St. John, a town in Northwest Indiana, and five siblings find out about the existence of dinosaurs through their neighbors who actually visited them. At a swimming party, the neighbors give the three younger siblings a book with a T-Rex's number on it. When all five kids visit Galavanti Island, they help Dacston, a T-Rex, Valpatic, a velociraptor, Jokie, a brachiosaurus, and Sammy, a stegosaurus, locate a case of saxophones that Selfish Arnie, Dacston's cousin, has taken from all of the citizens of Galavanti Island." The Sound of a B Flat: "Summer of 2006 commences in St. John, a town in Northwest Indiana, and Caleb Grzedek's band is starting to get known. Andrew, his older brother, starts his first tennis season in high school. He also spends time with his girlfriend and best friends, and Caleb finally comes up with the band's name with his best friends. And, coming from a big family, the Grzedek's are often visiting their relatives, and the five kids are always learning new things. Therefore, summer is off to a good start." Have a great week that lies ahead! B. Levi |
