Louise and Elizabeth Baranovsky

Greetings,

Today is a beautiful day, as always. Tea is amazing, and nothing can make life any better than what it already is!

Anyway, as promised, I am going to give you a character sketch of Louise and Elizabeth Baranovsky, who happen to be the half-sisters of Levi Cranston.

First, here is the character sketch of Louise Baranovsky.

  • Louise Jennifer Baranovsky was born on September 25th, 1980 in Warwick, Rhode Island.
  • She is the oldest of all the children on their mother's side.
  • Louise is married to her husband, Brian Soriano. It is never indicated when exactly they got married.
  • In The Magic Video Game and The Tennis Summer, Louise is eight months pregnant with her firstborn.
  • In the later novels, it is revealed that Louise and Brian have three children: David Lemster, who was born in 2006; and twins Caleb Ogden Brian and Andrew Harrison, who were both born in 2008.
  • Louise is considered a minor character as she never makes a huge appearance in any of the novels.
  • Although it is never indicated until the later novels, Louise gave birth to David Lemster during a family vacation to Rhode Island. Mr. Cranston, Levi, Jack Andrews (Levi's best friend), and Brian were the ones who took Louise into the emergency room when she was in labor.
  • Both Louise and Elizabeth graduate from one high school. Victoria, Olivia, and Levi (And Evelyn Maeve, eventually) graduated from another high school.
  • Louise and Elizabeth look very similar; however, Louise has reddish hair, green eyes, and a straight nose, and Elizabeth has dark brown hair, blue eyes, and a straight nose.
  • Louise's favorite color is green.

  • Now, onto the character sketch of Elizabeth Baranovksy.

  • Elizabeth Michelle Baranovsky was born on June 6th, 1981 in Warwick, Rhode Island.
  • In The Magic Video Game, Elizabeth gets married to Paul Weiner.
  • Like Louise, Elizabeth does not change her surname to match her husband's.
  • Elizabeth's favorite color is blue.
  • In the later novels, it is revealed that Elizabeth and Paul have two children: Mark James, who was born in 2007; and Mackenzie Jayne, who was born in 2009.
  • Like Louise, Elizabeth is considered a minor character because she makes brief appearances in the novels.
  • Elizabeth is a nursing technician before she gets married.
  • Unlike Louise and her family, who still live in Valparaiso, Elizabeth and her family live in Crown Point. That is briefly mentioned in the novels.
  • Elizabeth loves any and all Mexican food.
  • Unlike Louise, who has a sweet attitude, Elizabeth has a more direct and abrasive attitude. She is still nice, though.

Next week, you know what to expect! So, may you have a great remainder of the weekend and an amazing week.

Happy Saturday, everyone!

Last week, I gave you a character sketch of Olivia and Levi Cranston. This week, as promised, I will explain the characters Victoria and Evelyn Maeve Cranston.

So, here we go.

  • Victoria Kelley Ann Cranston was born on June 17th, 1988 in Warwick, Rhode Island.
  • She is the third oldest of all the kids, but the oldest of the kids that her mom and dad have together.
  • Victoria's best friend is Felisha Bennett, who is briefly introduced in each of the novels.
  • Victoria's favorite sport is bowling, but she does not play in high school.
  • Victoria and Levi do not get along as well as Olivia and Levi do.
  • Victoria's favorite food is Mexican food.
  • Although it is indicated that Olivia and Levi are in relationships, it does not appear that Victoria is.
  • Victoria's dream job is to become a businesswoman and change the world.
  • Victoria and Levi have similar traits, as they are both very headstrong.
  • Victoria's favorite color is blue.

That is the brief character sketch of Victoria Cranston. Now, I will give you the character sketch of the youngest child, Evelyn Maeve Cranston.

  • Evelyn Maeve Cranston was born on May 8th, 2000 in Dublin, Ireland.
  • She was adopted by the Cranston's when she was a baby.
  • Evelyn Maeve's last name was Loden before it was legally changed to Cranston.
  • Evelyn Maeve's favorite color is green.
  • Her favorite food is pizza.
  • Evelyn Maeve has always viewed Levi as her role model.
  • Evelyn Maeve's best friends are Sarah Beisswanger-Kneuzer and Mallory Adams. However, none of her best friends are revealed until The Crazy Chicken Escapade.
  • Levi briefly mentions in The Crazy Chicken Escapade that Sarah lives on the other side of downtown Valparaiso; Sarah lives on the east side, and Evelyn Maeve lives on the west side, and Mallory lives by the high school.
  • In The Crazy Chicken Escapade, Evelyn Maeve becomes friends with Alyssa Grzedek, Andrew Grzedek's younger sister.
  • Levi has taught Evelyn Maeve to appreciate video games.

These are the brief character sketches of Victoria Cranston and Evelyn Maeve Cranston. Next week, I will give you the character sketches of Louise and Elizabeth Baranovsky, the Cranston's half-sisters. For the next couples weeks after, I will give you character sketches of the main characters' best friends. Then, I will give you the character sketches of the more minor characters.

Have a great rest of the weekend and a great week ahead!

Olivia and Levi Cranston

Hello, everyone!

Hopefully you all had a great Fourth of July! And to those who don't actually celebrate that holiday, I hope you had an amazing day as well.

This week, I am going to give you a brief character sketch of Olivia and Levi Cranston, the two main characters from The Magic Video Game. These two characters played major roles in the first and second novels (however, the second novel mainly gives an overview of these characters' lives while they are at home for the summer).

And, without further ado, here is the character sketch of Levi Cranston.

  • Levi Cranston was born on October 30th, 1991 in Warwick, Rhode Island.
  • He hangs around two other boys on a regular basis: Jack Andrews and Asad Prejesh.
  • Levi and his two best friends also hang around with David Savino and Kevin and Caleb Boca.
  • He is an athlete; he plays soccer, basketball, baseball, and tennis. Mostly tennis.
  • He is extremely headstrong.
  • Levi does not associate himself around other athletes. He associates himself around gamers, since he is also an avid gamer. His two best friends are also avid gamers, so most of what they talk about is games.
  • Levi underwent an emergency tonsillectomy when he was almost fourteen. His recovery was very painful.
  • He asked out his girlfriend, Mackenzie Burbanks, four days after his tonsillectomy.
  • Levi has four older sisters: Louise Jennifer Baranovsky, Elizabeth Michelle Baranovsky, Victoria Kelley Ann Cranston, and Olivia Chloe Monice Cranston.
  • He has an adopted younger sister: Evelyn Maeve Cranston (Loden).
  • Levi’s middle names are Andrew Caleb.
  • The kids’ names spell out LeVole, which is their mother’s maiden name.
  • Levi has broken his foot twice.
  • The family is partially Jewish, with the children's mother being Jewish, and their father being Methodist.
  • He has also cracked his ribs from falling down the stairs when he was fourteen.
  • Like the majority of his male friends, Levi has a very high metabolism rate, so he eats a lot.
  • Before his family moved to Valparaiso, they lived in Rhode Island and Crown Point.
  • His family lived in Rhode Island until Levi was six.
  • They lived in Crown Point until Levi was ten, and they have lived in the same house in downtown Valparaiso since they moved from Crown Point.
  • Levi has had moderate asthma since he was five. He has been hospitalized for it before.
  • Levi is not a morning person.
  • Levi is very accident prone.

Here is the (pretty detailed) character sketch of Levi Cranston. Now, here is the character sketch of his older sister of a year, Olivia Cranston.

  • Olivia Chloe Monice Cranston was born on May 19th, 1990 in Warwick, Rhode Island.
  • In The Magic Video Game, The Tennis Summer, and The Crazy Chicken Escapade, Olivia is dating a boy named Cameron Sedley. It is uncertain if they are still dating in later novels. Although Cameron is mentioned numerous times in the first two novels, he is never formally introduced. However, in The Crazy Chicken Escapade, Levi gives a brief description of Cameron to his friends.
  • Olivia's best friend is Audrey Bersigno, who, again, is never formally introduced. She is, however, briefly mentioned in The Tennis Summer by Olivia. In The Crazy Chicken Escapade, Levi mentions Audrey Bersigno to his friends by giving them a brief description of her and also by telling them that Audrey lives close to the Cranston's house.
  • Olivia does not make an appearance in The Crazy Chicken Escapade.
  • Olivia's favorite color is blue.
  • Her most favorite food is anything Italian.
  • Unlike Levi, Olivia is not very accident prone.
  • Olivia has helped their mother take care of Levi when he was very sick and/or when he was injured.
  • Olivia's dream job is to become a nurse, while Levi's dream job is to become a biomedical engineer. Olivia's passion is briefly mentioned in the first novel, but Levi's passion is not mentioned until in later novels.
  • Unlike Levi, Olivia is not headstrong.

Here are the brief character sketches of Olivia and Levi Cranston. Next week, stay tuned for brief character sketches of Victoria and Evelyn Maeve Cranston.

Also, on Friday July 18th and Saturday July 19th, A Run in the Game (the sequel to Rockybado) will be listed for FREE on Amazon, so check it out!

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Thought Process of my Sci-Fi Compilation

7/4/2014

Hello, and Happy Fourth of July!

After a very interesting trip to Minnesota to see the Grand Portage Falls (we're always exploring the unknown), I am not quite sure what we will end up doing tonight in terms of the holidays. However, we are attending a family reunion in Southern Indiana tomorrow afternoon.

And we get to meet kitties! Sadly, we're not taking any home. We already have four.

On the trip to Minnesota, I brought a notebook with me to continue jotting down ideas for my upcoming sci-fi compilation novel, The Crazy Chicken Escapade. For your recollection, the main characters from Rockybado, The Jazzy Island of Dinosaurs, and The Magic Video Game come together to go on an adventure (I will give you all the details later in my novel!). It is 30 chapters long (my novels are typically 20 chapters long), with 4 quickies (typically 2), and 2 very long chapters (typically 1. I need time to write it, am I right?!)

If you’ve read my novels, you’d understand where I’m going with this. To those of you who have not, please go to my main page and check out my novels by scrolling to the bottom of the page, where you will find links to my e-books on Amazon!

I am already over 32,000 words into my project, and 7 chapters left. However, my initial goal was 50,000 words. I will get there, or I won’t.

In several of my chapters, you will get to personally meet the main characters. In others, you will see yourself going on the adventure with the characters.

I used my old notebooks to write several of my chapters because I liked the plot lines that I used when I originally wrote in a notebook. That was about 10 years ago. However, I “beefed” it up with an expanded plot, and I added to it a few subtle jokes that people might like.

However, while I am transferring what I had written in my Minnesota notebook, I hope you all have a great Fourth and an even better weekend!

Please stay tuned next week for a character sketch of Olivia and Levi Cranston from The Magic Video Game.

B. Levi
