Spring or summer of 2017
Brett Ingram (Rockybado), his girlfriend Olivia Cranston (The Magic Video Game), her friend Audrey Bersigno, and Brett’s friends, Byron Lewis, Tony Rossi, and Kevin Vast, were all planning a five-day vacation in Orlando, Florida over Memorial Day weekend. They all live in the New York City area, and they have all wanted to plan this vacation for a while. Brett and Tony are from Crown Point, Indiana. Olivia and Audrey are from Valparaiso, Indiana. Byron is from St Louis. And Kevin is from the Los Angeles area. Brett knows Tony from high school, as do Olivia and Audrey. Brett knows Byron and Kevin from college, and Tony knows them through Brett. Brett was lying on his stomach on the floor in his Brooklyn apartment, with his laptop in front of him. Everyone else gathered around him while he was trying to figure out the cheapest prices, the accountant that he is. He is not just an accountant, he’s a CPA. “Have you found anything relatively cheap?” Byron asked. “It shouldn’t be too bad right now, since we are a couple months away from Memorial Day weekend,” Brett replied, then drawing in a deep breath. “What is it, though?” “Well, I found one-way tickets for $120.” “That’s not too bad, given it’s Memorial Day weekend,” Byron remarked. “I’m sure I might be able to find some cheaper,” Brett stated. “Well, good luck!” “I’m working on it. At least we got a place to stay for those five days.” “Where is it?” “Close to downtown Orlando.” The Ingram’s have visited Orlando several times in their lives, and they have always looked for the best options while down there. With the knowledge and their parents’ have instilled in them when they were little, they have always been smart about how to navigate around their vacations. Brett’s older brother, Dawson, is planning to take his wife and twin daughters to St Louis over Memorial Day weekend. And Brett’s younger siblings, David, Brody, and Toby are visiting Los Angeles over the weekend. Their parents are visiting Orlando as well, and Brett and his friends may run into them. Mr. and Mrs. Ingram still live in Crown Point, but they also maintain a condo in Orlando. This city has always been their favorite. Like Brett’s favorite city is New York City. Dawson’s is Chicago. David’s and Brody’s is San Francisco. And Toby is undecided. He loves New York, Chicago, and San Francisco, but he is not sure where he wants to end up after graduation from college. Toby goes to college in Chicago, but he had an internship in San Francisco last year. This year, he is pursuing an internship in New York City, so that he can compare the two. The first internship that he has ever had was in Chicago. “Okay guys, I found some pretty damn good tickets,” Brett remarked after a few minutes of more intense searching for the best rates. “Okay, how much is it?” Tony asked. “$102 one way.” “That’s not bad, especially for Memorial Day weekend.” “We’re getting them. I’ll pay for them, but make sure you all pay me back for your share of the tickets,” Brett remarked. “We won’t,” Byron replied with a smile. “Byron….” “Jay kay! Oh em gee!” “Really?!” “Oh em gee, you so goofy.” Brett decided to buy the tickets, and Kevin ordered pizza. It was only 4:30 in the afternoon, but he was starting to get hungry. Everyone else would be getting hungry sooner than later as well. It was only the middle of March, so they had plenty of time to get everything squared away with their vacation to Orlando. It was only Saturday afternoon, and everyone was free today. No one had to work today, so they decided to get pizza. They weren’t quite sure what they wanted to do tonight, but Byron had some thoughts. For that matter, so did Tony. They just hadn’t said anything about their ideas yet. “What are your plans tonight?” Tony asked. “As far as I know, nothing,” Byron remarked. “Isn’t there a band performing a few blocks away?” “There is?” “I’m not sure. I had thought about checking them out,” Tony said. “I’m down. What about everyone else?” Byron questioned. “I don’t think they’re hearing us, to be honest.” “Well, shit. What else could they be doing?” “I think they’re watching goofy videos.” “Yeah. Brett, Kevin, Audrey, and Olivia are totally ignoring us.” Brett, Tony, Kevin, and Byron created their own band once they moved to New York City. They are still called the Hawaiian Geeks. When Brett and Tony were still in the Chicago area, they played with the Hawaiian Geeks, but they moved half of their band to New York. The previous bandmates decided to stay with Mr. Morton, another band that Brett had played in while in the Chicago area. Whoever used to be a part of the Hawaiian Geeks and stayed in the Chicago area decided to play with Mr. Morton, while the Hawaiian Geeks moved to New York. Sadly, the Hawaiian Geeks did not have a performance tonight. They had one last weekend, and the turnout was great. They all decided to take a weekend off to plan their vacation to Orlando. Brett, Kevin, Olivia, and Audrey had gathered around Brett’s computer and decided to watch some ridiculously funny videos online. They were obviously caught up in the moment and did not pay attention to Byron and Tony. “WAKE UP, PEOPLE!!!!” Tony screamed at the top of his lungs. “Wha…” Brett responded. “You guys were watching funny videos on the onlines.” “What the hell? Where did you come from?” “Planet Mars,” Tony responded with a goofy smile. “No,” Brett said, laughing to himself. “We should be getting pizza soon.” “That’s great, since we’re all hungry.” “Well, at least I was.” “Yeah, true.” “Wanna see that one band tonight?” Tony asked. “Yeah, we could,” Brett replied. Brett still lay on his stomach on the floor, with his laptop in front of him. Audrey and Olivia were still with Brett and Kevin. Brett decided that now was the time to get his mind off goofy videos from the Internet and focus more on getting ready for tonight. Where Tony had thought about taking everyone tonight is a game room with pool tables. He has been interested in seeing the place for a couple weeks now. And he thought everyone else might like it as well, since they all consider themselves masters at pool. Maybe not that, but they do enjoy the game at least. “Kevin, what kind of pizza did you order?” Byron asked. “Anchovies, garlic, pineapple, and tomatoes, your favorite,” Kevin replied with a goofy smile. “Oh shit. No, you didn’t.” “Just for you, Byron. Since I know you love anchovies, garlic, pineapple, and tomatoes.” “Yeah, no. I don’t,” Byron stated. “Thought you did like them,” Kevin said. “No!” “Just kidding. I got pineapple and ham, and then just cheese. Because I know you love pineapple on pizza.” “Uh uh. You know pretty damn well that pineapple does not go on pizza.” “Yeah, it does.” Kevin got two large pizzas, since there are four guys and two girls in the apartment at the moment. For some, pineapple goes on pizza. For others, pineapple does not go on pizza. With that being said, for Tony, Kevin, Brett, and Audrey, pineapple goes on pizza. For Olivia and apparently Byron, pineapple does not go on pizza. Brett, Olivia, Audrey, and Tony were still watching videos on Brett’s computer. Goofy ones, of course. They were completely unaware of the fact that Kevin had already ordered pizza. But they were aware of the fact that they wanted to check out a local band. After all, it’s New York City. The city is always bopping on a Saturday night. “What’s with Byron?” Brett asked Tony as they overheard some conversation between Kevin and Byron. “Who knows? I think he’s being a bit of a butt today,” Tony remarked. “Byron is always a butt.” “Is he now?” “I think so,” Brett replied, laughing to himself. “He does not like pineapple on pizza,” Tony stated. “Does he like pineapple at all?” “I don’t know, but he likes grapefruit.” “I like grapefruit, especially with sugar on top of a half.” “Does it ever squirt in your eye?” “Sometimes.” About thirty minutes later, they all heard the doorbell ring, so they all knew what that meant. The pizza god was here to give them pizza. After Kevin got the money from everyone and gave it to the delivery person, they got their pizza fix. It was early afternoon, so no one felt like drinking yet. That would be later when they’d go out and hit up Brooklyn. Tony decided to put on some goofy TV while they would all eat pizza. Within thirty minutes, both pizzas were gone. But they all still wanted to watch some TV before leaving the apartment. All six kids were pretty hooked on this show, and they wanted to watch as much as they possibly could before the weather would warm up. An hour later…. “Let’s hit up Brooklyn,” Byron said, semi-announcing everything. “Where are we going first?” Brett asked. “Oh, you know.” “Oh, where the band is performing?” “How did you know?” Byron asked, semi-goofy. “We talked about it!” Brett exclaimed. “Oh, yeah. That’s right.” “I want to see them about as badly as you do. I guess we’re all ready to go then.”

Levi Cranston (The Magic Video Game) and one of his friends from college were talking about their relationships at lunch. During this time, they were both college students at a university in northeastern Indiana. "How long have you been with Mackenzie?" Levi's friend asked. "Going on seven years," Levi replied with a smile. "That is the longest relationship I have ever heard of." "Oh really? I know of a few that have lasted pretty long, including my sister's relationship." "I wish all of us were as lousy as you," Levi's friend remarked somewhat sarcastically. "What is that supposed to mean?" Levi asked, pretty confused. "Wouldn't it be fun to hang out with other girls so you can see who else is out there?" "Um, no. I'm pretty happy with where I am." "Can I hang out with Mackenzie? She's really cute." "No." Thanksgiving 2015
Kevin Maggliardi and his three older siblings were at their parents’ house in Cranston, Rhode Island for Thanksgiving. At the time, Sheridan, 29, was living in Boston. Graham, 26, was living in New York. Addison, 24, was living in Chicago. And Kevin was still a student and living in Boston. Although Sheridan and Kevin lived close to each other and are very close, they otherwise keep their lives pretty separate. Sheridan was living with a couple of his friends in Cambridge. Kevin was living in the Allston neighborhood with his friends, Jing Hao, Mike Wong, and David Rogers. Graham and Addison were helping their parents make their traditional Italian food for Thanksgiving. Sheridan came home after getting coffee with a friend. He was walking toward the kitchen, and then Kevin quickly ran through the walkway leading to it, quickly scaring Sheridan. “OH MY GOD!!!!” Sheridan shouted. “BOO YA!” Kevin screamed. “What the hell, man. My heart nearly exploded.” “Charlie got scared. Ya dingus.” “Don’t ever f*cking do that again,” Sheridan said, trying to catch his breath. “You alright?” Kevin asked. “No, of course not. I’m gonna like die over here.” “No, it’s not that bad.” “Still, don’t do that.” “Noted.” Friday, April 19, 2019
A couple of Levi Cranston’s (The Magic Video Game) friends, Kevin Maggliardi and Mike Wong, decided to spend this evening together working out. Levi, Jack Andrews, Asad Prejesh, and Jing Hao spent an evening in downtown Cambridge, Massachusetts. Kevin and Wong had been wanting to run up all of the flights of stairs in Wong’s high rise building in Cambridge, and now was the best day to do it. “Are you ready to die yet, Wong?” Kevin asked his best friend with a smile. “As ready as always,” Wong responded, flexing his right arm. “Me, too. Ready?” “Yes!” After a brief warm-up session, the two boys started running up each flight of stairs. After about five flights of stairs, both boys started breathing a little harder, but they still felt like they could accomplish this feat. Twelve flights of stairs in, and Kevin noticed himself gasping for air, and his face felt flushed. He was not going to let this stop him. This was his goal for over six months, as was Wong’s. He had used his inhaler before running up the stairs. Wong started feeling a burning sensation in his chest, and he could hear his heart pounding in his ears. He didn’t care. They were a few flights up from the top, and this was not going to stop them. Before they knew it, they made it to the top. Both Kevin and Wong slowly finished their last flight and found a ledge to sit on. They were both breathing very hard and were extremely sweaty. Wong’s chest hurt even more than it did before. He tried some deep breathing exercises without much luck. He had to catch his breath before he could relax. Kevin’s hands were on his chest. He could both hear and feel his heart racing. He thought it could pop out of his chest at any moment. He buried his head inside his shirt so that he could dry the sweat off his face. “Well, unless we decide to shower, I don’t think we should go anywhere tonight,” Wong remarked, after a few minutes. “I’m winded. I don’t think I’d want to go anywhere tonight,” Kevin replied. “How are you now?” “Almost recovered. How about you?” “I’m fine. Your face is flushed,” Wong said. “It feels flushed. You in the mood for pizza?” Kevin asked. “Of course. I’m probably gonna be hungry within the next hour.” “I call a large pineapple and ham pizza for myself. What about you?” “Feeling cheese today. My heart is racing.” “Just take some deep breaths. You’ll be okay.” Summer 2019
Mike Wong and Kevin Maggliardi went on a run on a warm afternoon, when they probably should not have. Their 1.5-hour long run went well for the most part, until the end. When Wong and Kevin finished their run, Wong was doing fine. But Kevin was experiencing difficulty breathing and a sharp pain in his chest. He lay on the ground with both hands on his chest, feeling for his heartbeat, and his shirt was pulled up to his stomach. His belly button and part of his boxers were exposed. “Wong,” Kevin said weakly. “Yes, Kevin?” Wong responded. “Can you get my inhaler?” “Sure, where is it? “Backpack,” Kevin replied. “I’ll look for it,” Wong said. “I forgot to use it.” “Oh shit.” “Yeah.” “You okay?” “I’m not sure.” Wong gave Kevin his inhaler, and once he took a few puffs, Kevin started to recover. After a few minutes, he rolled over on his left side and threw up. “You okay, Kevin?” Wong asked. “I’m getting there,” Kevin replied. “Sorry about today.” “No, I screwed up. I forgot to use my inhaler before we went on our run, and that always happens to me when I don’t.” “It happens. I have asthma as well, and the same thing has happened to me before,” Wong stated. “My heart was pounding so hard, that I thought it was gonna burst. Every time I felt my heartbeat, I felt a sharp pain in my chest, and of course it really hurt to breathe,” Kevin remarked. “Oh wow, that sucks.” “Yeah, I’m glad it’s over. And throwing up sucks as well.” “Yes, it does. Same thing happened to me a few times when I also forgot my inhaler.” “My older brother has asthma as well, and there were also a few times where he forgot to use his inhaler.” Summer 2011
Kevin Maggliardi just walked away from a car accident with only a mild concussion. He took the next week to rest as much as he could, so he could play soccer and tennis again with his friends as soon as possible. The day after the accident and he was released, he spent the whole day sleeping. The first time he woke up was around 10 am, and he took some time to shower and then go back to sleep. He slept for another few hours on the couch in the common area and woke up to his dad turning on a TV show about the Italian mafia. He was drifting in and out until about 4 pm, when he fell back asleep until 7 pm, and his family had dinner by the TV. The rest of the evening was a blur. He slept hard from 10 pm to 2 pm the next day, and he started to feel a little more energy coming back. But he was definitely not in the mood to doing a lot for a good week or two. Thanksgiving 2015

Levi Cranston (The Magic Video Game), Jack Andrews, Asad Prejesh, and Jing Hao were at their apartment in Allston, playing card games. It was around 7 pm, and they were expecting their other friend, Kevin Maggliardi, to get to the apartment around 5:30 pm. They knew that he had some errands that he needed to run, but they had not heard from him until about 30 minutes later. At 7:15, they heard a knock on the door, and they knew it was Kevin. Jack walked over to the door because he knew that he was going to be really shaken up. “Hey Kevin,” Jack greeted their friend at the door. “Hey,” Kevin responded quietly. “You alright?” “No.” “We’re all here in the common area,” Jack said. “That’s good,” Kevin replied. “You wanna talk about it?” “Maybe in a bit. I need to catch my breath.” “You ran all the way here?” “Yup.” Jack and Kevin walked together into the common area, where everyone else was. They noticed that Kevin was absolutely not himself. He seemed really tired and out of breath, and he was really sweaty, after sprinting two miles from the scary incident. He appeared to be very shaken up, and Jack let him lie on their couch. Levi and Asad put away the games, so that they could focus on helping get Kevin stable. No one has ever seen him like this before. Asad got a pillow from his room and put it on the couch for Kevin to lay his head on. Kevin lay sideways on the couch, trying really hard to catch his breath. His hands were on his chest, most likely feeling for his heartbeat. “My heart’s pounding,” Kevin remarked quietly. “It’s okay, buddy. You’re safe here,” Jack replied. “Thanks.” “So what happened?” “I was being followed and then held at gunpoint,” Kevin said. “Oh shit. You didn’t lose anything, did you?” Jack questioned. “I lost like $12 in cash, but that was about it. I didn’t have my wallet on me, so I lucked out. When I gave him what I had, I distracted him, and then I bolted. I think I ran like two or three miles. And then my asthma acted up a bit, so that was great.” “Why did he follow you in the first place?” “I have no idea why I was a target. Maybe it was because I had my backpack on me.” “Yeah, who knows? But, at least you’re safe.” “I don’t think I’ve ever feared for my life.” Jing and Asad walked over to Jing and Kevin’s apartment in Cambridge, only a 30 minute walk on foot. Their two other roommates, David Vittorio and John Harold, wanted to hit up downtown Boston in the evening, so all four boys were going to head out that way shortly. Levi and Jack decided to stay back with Kevin. They would probably watch TV for the rest of the night and let Kevin stay over. “Hey Kevin,” Levi got his friend’s attention after he accidentally fell asleep for a few minutes. “Yeah?” Kevin asked softly. “Something similar happened to me when I was a kid.” “Oh really?” “I used to walk home from school, and I was approached twice in eighth grade,” Levi remarked. “Oh wow,” Kevin replied. “Yeah. It was pretty scary. When I was walking home from school, some old guy asked me if I was cold, since I didn’t have a coat on. That terrified me, so I bolted back to my house. That was the first time, and we thought we had everything settled. Then, a month later, someone screamed random crap out of their car, and I thought it was directed at me, so I ran back to my house. That was when I was walking to school. I couldn’t go to school that day, because I was too terrified.” “That’s scary.” “You alright?” “I will be.” Spring 2019
Kevin Maggliardi was walking over to Levi Cranston’s and Jack Andrews’ Boston apartment. He was tired after an intense workout, and he didn’t want to do much. Jing Hao, Mike Wong, and Asad Prejesh were going to Cambridge. Levi, Jack, and Kevin weren’t up to joining them. When Kevin walked into his friends’ apartment, he noticed that Levi was sleeping. Jack was watching stupid cartoons on TV. “Hi Kevin,” Jack said. “Hi Jack,” Kevin replied sleepily. Levi was sleeping on one couch. Jack was sitting on one end of another couch. Kevin fell asleep on the couch within ten minutes. |
