From Rockybado 2: A Run in the Game
Nothing was said between Brett, David, Bryan, Tamaka, Britney, and Rachelle. At least for about two minutes. The fact that they were silent was a bit of an awkward feeling, for either party. It was either that Bryan and his buddies were going to let David and Brett off the hook today; or Bryan and his buddies were going to ask for a brawl. And then…. “So, what are you going to do?” David asked Bryan, after the awkward silence. “David,” Brett warned his younger brother. “Well, this is awkward,” Tamaka said matter-of-factly. “I agree,” Rachelle said even more matter-of-factly. “What are we going to do, Bryan?” Britney asked her twin brother. A few seconds later…. “Today, we’re going to let you guys off the hook. But next time, we fight,” Bryan answered in a somewhat nonchalant manner. “I could easily beat you guys in a fight,” Brett replied. “How?” “For one….I’m older than you. By at least a year.” “What does that have to do with anything?” “More experience and knowledge.” This was apparently a little too much information for Bryan and his friends to digest all at once. Nothing else was said for another few minutes or so. Another awkward moment, to say the least. Brett and David looked at the four kids. Bryan, Tamaka, Britney, and Rachelle looked down at the ground. And, evidently, Bryan couldn’t be too serious about trying to fight David and Brett. “Okay. Let’s go,” Bryan said to his friends. Bryan, Britney, Tamaka, and Rachelle left the baseball field. However, Brett and David stayed and hoped to find Brody and Andrew in particular. They first walked slowly over to the vending machine to get two cans of pop, one for Brett and one for David.
