Fall 2017
Kevin Maggliardi and his friend and roommate, Jing Hao, we’re playing video games in the common area of their Cambridge, MA apartment for the afternoon. They didn’t want to do much else. Their other friends were out and about. “Do you remember senior year of college when I pulled that horrible all-nighter?” Kevin asked. “Vaguely. Remind me what happened,” Jing replied. “I drank coffee, an energy drink, and pop while working on that huge capstone project.” “Oh yeah. Now I remember.” “And I thought my heart was gonna explode in my chest,” Kevin said. “Didn’t you end up in the ER because of it?” Jing asked. “I probably should’ve because my heart was pounding so hard for a long time, and my chest hurt. But I was able to calm myself down by placing an ice pack on my side. The next few days were pretty rough.” “Oh yeah. Me, Wong, and David pretty much nursed you back to health.” “That was so stupid. I’ll never do that again. Like I’ve pulled all-nighters before, but not like that,” Kevin said. “That’s why I don’t drink coffee, energy drinks, and pop at the same time,” Jing remarked. “Well now I don’t.”
