It was Saturday February 18th, 2017, and David and Brody Ingram were in their apartment in Merrillville, Indiana. They were the only ones here, as Andrew McCalsky was currently on a flight back to Chicago from New York City; he was visiting family there. And David's friend, Adam Levistad, was currently at his parents' house for the afternoon. Even though it was Saturday, it was a pretty quiet one. The weather was nice, and David and Brody wanted to do at least a little bit of something today.
David was just recovering from a very bad cold the week before. And now, Brody was starting to feel it. David and his girlfriend, Olivia Flavenshevich, were in Chicago the weekend before, and David suddenly started feeling pretty sick. They cancelled their other plans for the evening, and David seriously thought he had strep throat. Turns out it was a cold. David tried going to work the Monday after he got sick, but he made it through half a day. His boss sent him home, realizing he really did not look well at all. And then he had spent his Tuesday and Wednesday in his bedroom at his parents' house because he was simply not up to going to work. He went back to work on Thursday, constantly having to blow his nose, which was very annoying. Then, he started getting a little better on Friday. Strangely enough, Brody started feeling a little sick yesterday morning, but he went to work. He was feeling a little more sluggish this morning, but he was pretty determined that he and David would do a little something on this nice day. And, especially since Toby, their little brother, was spending the weekend at his college in Chicago. They were probably just going to spend the day in downtown Crown Point, where they are originally from, and also to possibly see their parents for a bit. They might also consider going to the mall; they weren't quite sure. "How are you feeling today?" David asked his younger brother of a year. "My throat's a little sore, but I think I'll be okay," Brody replied. "Same with me. My head hurts a little, and I'm really tired. I don't really want to do much today." "Me neither." "Want to get a cherry lemonade at the mall?" David asked. "Sure," Brody remarked. "I've been wanting one of those for a while." "I have, too!" "Wanna go now?" "Absolutely."
