A Little Excerpt

It was December 29, 2016 and David and Brody Ingram were planning to go to San Francisco, California for a couple weeks. Their friends, Adam Levistad and Andrew McCalsky were planning to go with the Ingram's. However, Adam ended up not going because he couldn't remember when his cousin was moving to his new apartment in Valparaiso, Indiana. Adam thought his cousin, Ben, was moving a week after they would come back from San Francisco, but it turned out to be the last of the two weeks that they would be in San Francisco. He frantically tried to get someone to go to San Francisco with the other three kids. Brody tried to help him out by asking his girlfriend, Julia Jaconetti, if she wanted to go with them. It turned out that she had already made plans with their family. The boys had also asked their other friend, John Garfield, if he wanted to go with them. John lives in Valparaiso with one of his cousins, and he couldn't go because of family gatherings going on during that time. After a few somewhat sleepless days of trying to figure it all out, the boys were able to get David's and Brody's little brother, Toby, to go to San Francisco with them.

David, Brody, Adam, and Andrew live in an apartment in Merrillville, Indiana and have been there for a little over a year now. They are all originally from Crown Point, and they all thought it would be fun and cool to live together since they all have jobs around the area. And Toby goes to school in Chicago so it is perfect for him. He also likes to travel, so the opportunity to go to San Francisco with two of his older brothers, as well as with one of their good friends, is a great one. It has been a little while since they've been to San Francisco.

Brody is back with his once former girlfriend, Julia Jaconetti. He dated Candace Seales for a little over two years, but it was just simply not working out for them. They liked each other, but Candace saw things one way and Brody saw things another way. They didn't quite agree, so they thought they would just be better off being friends. Brody has been back with Julia for a little over six months.

And David has been engaged to his fiancée, Olivia Flavenshevich, for about a year now. They met in college, and they went to the same high school. When David and Olivia were in high school, they did not know each other. However, they met in a class that they had together, and they realized how small the world really is. Brody and Olivia were in the same high school class, and they were acquaintances during that time. They are better friends now, since David and Olivia are together.

Toby is most definitely single. He has been interested in some potential relationships, but they never worked out so he decided to take a break from it all. And same with Andrew, as he had a relationship that dissolved just recently. Not for bad reasons; but, like Brody's relationship with Candace, it didn't quite work out the way he was hoping it would have.

The boys did not want to think about relationships and whatnot for now. They were already at the airport with their bags checked in and passed through security. David, Brody, Toby, and Andrew had about an hour and a half to kill before they needed to get on the plane to San Francisco.

David and Toby decided to walk around the airport and see what might be available food wise. Brody and Andrew sat by their carry-on's just to make sure they were safe. When David and Toby were going to come back with food, hopefully soon enough, Brody and Andrew were going to walk around the airport and find some food to tide them over. Brody was in the mood for some Asian food. Andrew wanted something simple. They had been thinking about it for a while. Well, at least for as long as David and Toby had been gone.

"Ready for San Francisco?" Brody asked his best friend.
"Oh, absolutely," Andrew replied.
"It's been a while since we have been there, from what I remember."
"When was the last time we went?"
"I believe it was a year and a half ago? Wasn't it during spring break of our senior year?" Brody questioned.
"I think it was," Andrew answered.
"Yeah, and we went, plus Adam, minus Toby."
"That's right."
"Too bad Adam couldn't come with us."
"I know. It's really sad."
