From Rockybado 2: A Run in the Game
Bowling practice started, and Brett Ingram was not doing well at all at first. Dawson, his older brother, was racking in quite a few strikes and spares, as was the majority of the teammates there. However, Brett did not seem to get the hang of things today, and he wasn’t really sure why. He had no strikes at first; only a few spares and quite a few gutter balls. However, he did eventually get a few strikes, but that was it. Instead of scoring an average range of 250 and 280, he scored less than 150 in one actual game.
Not the best day that he has had.
“Today’s practice was the worst yet,” Brett said, once he had packed his bowling ball into his blue duffel bag.
“It’s okay, Brett. Not like the whole world is going to crash in on us,” Dawson joked half-heartedly.
“Very funny, Dawson.”
“I’m just trying to lighten the mood.”
“Honestly, do you know what my score was today?” Brett questioned his older brother.
“I didn’t look at your scoreboard,” Dawson replied.
“My score was 142.”
“Your score was….142?”
“You are correct.”
“At least that doesn’t happen too happen.”
“Yes. At least.”
Dawson did not know what else to say to Brett about the bad practice. While Dawson ended up talking to another teammate, Brett found himself going into the men’s bathroom and crying his eyes out, until Dawson sent him a text message, saying:
“I’m out at your car.”
Brett left the bathroom and walked out of the bowling alley to his car. He unlocked the car, so that both of them could easily get into it. Brett started his car, and he had seriously thought about going to the nearest ice cream parlor. Even though Brett wasn’t quite vocal about his thoughts about getting some comfort food, Dawson just wanted to go home.
“I seriously need a hot fudge sundae,” Brett decided to break the silence.
“You don’t need a hot fudge sundae,” Dawson said matter-of-factly.
“Why? I had a horrible game.”
“I think you’re just letting your emotions get the best of you.”
“I guess you’re right.”
“I honestly think you are acting like a girl who has just had her tonsils removed,” Dawson blurted out with no thought put into what he had just said.
There was silence for a few seconds. And then….
“….What?” Brett questioned, rather stunned at his older brother’s comment.
“That is exactly how you’re reacting to the outcome of the game.”
“I’m….I’m really sorry then.”
“It’s quite alright.”
Still a little stunned by Dawson’s blunt comment, Brett decided to drive Dawson and himself home. What the heck. It was probably good not to spend more money than needed. The two older brothers were in the car; neither of them really wanted to listen to any genre of music right now. They were just a little too focused on getting home.
Fifteen minutes later, they both came home. Without much conversation during that drive back. And Dawson and Brett were ready to do something very relaxing. They didn’t want to go into the pool. They didn’t really want to go out on the patio. They certainly didn’t want to go out with their friends from the bowling team right now. Instead, both Dawson and Brett decided that playing a video game or two might be the best solution.
“Care to play a video game or two?” Dawson offered Brett.
“Why not?” Brett answered.
“So, Brett, are you feeling at least a little better about the situation?”
“I’m kind of over it actually.”
“That’s good,” Dawson said.
“I think I overreacted,” Brett remarked.
“I think you did, too.”
“And, quite frankly, I’m glad we didn’t get a hot fudge sundae.”
“You got my strawberry smoothie instead.”
“Indeed, I did.”

From The Crazy Chicken Escapade
The rule of the game was for David Ingram, Andrew Grzedek, and Levi Cranston to go from one island to another. It was not exactly specified in the rules, but the three boys knew that they were supposed to go to Galavanti Island next. David, Andrew, and Levi really enjoyed their time in Wakahakai, but they knew they had to meet new friends who live on a different island. And Marty the polar bear and his friends were invited to a birthday party where a well-known band, the Hawaiian Dweebs, were going to play.
“It was a pleasure meeting you all,” Marty said to the three boys.
“I enjoyed Wakahakai,” David replied.
“I did, too,” Andrew remarked.
“I did as well,” Levi replied.
Cosmo the penguin was crying hysterically, and he gave David, Andrew, and Levi a hug. Jack McFrost the snowman pulled out a handkerchief and gave it to Cosmo. Sporto the walrus and Jefferson the Eskimo Pig gave the three boys high-fives. Then, Marty gave everyone a group hug.
David, Andrew, and Levi then boarded a UFO that came to the area all of a sudden. Then, the three boys were off to Galavanti Island to meet a posse of dinosaurs known commonly to man as Dacston, a T-Rex, Valpatic, a velociraptor, Jokie, a brachiosaurus, and Sammy, a stegosaurus.
The dinosaurs knew exactly what happened to the chicken community, and they were relying on the three boys to help them find evidence of the evil people, known commonly to man as Darveda, Nelson, Hilda, and Bug. When David, Andrew, and Levi arrived in Galavanti Island after a thirty-minute ride in the unidentified flying object, the four dinosaurs ran up to the UFO to meet the three boys.
“Hello, everyone!” Dacston the T-Rex exclaimed to the three boys.
“Hey!” Andrew replied excitedly to the dinosaurs that he has already known.
“To all of those who don’t know us, I’m Dacston. I’m a T-Rex. Here is Valpatic, a velociraptor. This is Jokie, a brachiosaurus, and Sammy, a stegosaurus.”
“This is David, and here is Levi. We all met not too long ago.”
“Splendid. So, as you all know, we need to bring the chicken community back to normal. With this in mind, we need to find the last bit of evidence that we can to use against Darveda, Nelson, Hilda, and Bug. They are taking advantage of Radcliffe, the leader of the chicken community, and the sooner we get the chicken community back to normal, the better.”
After a ten-minute introduction with everyone, they all decided that now was the time to comb the area and see if there was any evidence that the “bad guys” might have left behind. No one was sure how long this was going to take. However, they wanted to get a head start and find some useful evidence.
Time to begin.
